Part of my main business is wheel building.
I build wheels for vintage cycle collectors, Touring Cyclists racing cyclists and because of my close proximity to London I also carry out a far few wheel builds for the London courier cycle community.
I mainly use Sapim spokes, rims Velocity, Mavic,Ambrosio,Rigida,Grand Bois
Hubs, ,Shimano, Novatec,Grand Bois, Camapag,Miche,Ambrosio,Zenith and some in between.
I trade build for shops as well as for individuals, Im not into exotic spoking patterns Im afraid Im what you would
term a traditional wheelbuilder, built to be strong and to last.
The 650B wheel is becoming a format in its own right I have a quote from a client of mine he had a Grand Bois wheel build rims and tyres
"Apologies for not getting in touch sooner. Wheels are fantastic. We have just returned from 2 weeks touring in France and my partner has been completely won over by the 650b idea. The conversion has been a great success - better than I could have ever imagined. The bike looks like it was custom built for this wheel and tyre size."
I have been quite active in building 26 inch wheels for road use lately, manily with dynamo hubs, Shimano, Sturmey Archer and Novatec maybe a compromise as Im quite active in trying to kick start some 650B appreciation here in the UK
