My background in cycling like most goes back to club level riding and hill climb. Yes Essex has hills some pretty steep ones. My first serious cycles was a local builder to me Rory O Brian in Romford Essex. and a Mercian fixed gear training bike.Thats right a fixed gear training bike mainly for the hill climb work. Done some time trialing not to go good a little to big so I stuck to the hill climb work much better at that.

Then it stopped Rugby took over then poewer lifting wife children work , decided to drop out and go back to using my hands. I was a watch and clock restorer and repairer for a number of years but an eye condition put pay to that so I turned my hand to wheel building and have been for a while now and as a natural progression turned my hand turned to bike building and opened avenues into the some of the UK’s finest craftsmen namely a very good mate of mine Paul Villiers from Villiers Velo a scholar and a gentleman.

I do work for Paul in a number of ways and in turn he has imparted a great deal of  knowledge about this very complicated and fickled industry.
